Spitz
nevus is a benign tumor of melanocytic origin. The
lesion is a usually asymptomatic, solitary, reddish
or pinkish, hairless, dome-shaped, smooth-surfaced,
and firm papule or nodule, measuring less than 1.0§¯
in the greatest diameter. In most instances, it
is encountered most commonly on the face and extremities
in the first two decades of life. The histologic
picture of the lesion reveals numerous uniform nests
of spindle cells and epithelioid cells with sparse
pigmentation in the dermis. We report herein four
cases of Spitz nevus with a review of literatures. |
