The department provides diagnosis and treatment of the lost tooth for the prevention of hard tissue disease occurred around the tooth and Periapical tissue, and aims at relieving the inconvenience and recovering the lost function. It is a part of dentistry that deals with diagnosis, treatment, and convalescence of the defects of tooth and maintains the biological health of tooth by recovering appropriate shape and structure as well as forming beautiful teeth desired by everyone, e.g., aesthetics.
There was a time when conservative dentistry was considered equal to clinical surgery in dental medicine, but all affiliated departments are now turned into independent specialty areas. Conservative dentistry is the foundation of dental science from where all areas of dental science have grown.
Department of Conservative dentistry of affiliated dental hospital of Kyung Hee Medical Center was established upon the opening of affilated dental hospital on October 5, 1971 and trained 80 residents so far. At present, 4 professors, 1 clinical lecturer and 8 residents are providing medical service to the patients.
