International Studies of Oriental Medicine (ISOM)

In efforts to internationalize Oriental Medicine and to introduce to the international community Korea's significant contribution to Oriental Medicine, Kyung Hee University established the Department of ISOM in 1997. ISOM has since implemented a Special Residency Program for foreign doctors, acupuncturists and medical students, designed to expose our Western colleagues to Oriental Medicine as practiced in Asia in a hospital setting. Here you'll see hundreds of patients in designated departments presented with both Western and Eastern diagnoses and glean insights into Korean treatment techniques. Attendees can choose one to various departments to study in exclusively for an individual internship with doctors within a person's fields of interest. Certification is given at the time of successful completion of this program noting with KHU's seal the hours.
