The Department of Otorhinolaryngology was established upon the opening of an affiliated hospital in 1971. The specialization of the treatment and research was acquired through the establishment of Head &Neck Tumor and Endoscopy Clinic in February 1984, Allergy Clinic in May 1986, and Dizziness Clinic in November 1986. The department introduced discharge notice system and early pre-noon treatment system, and started outpatient surgery that allows the patients to be discharged on the same day of admission and surgery since January 1996. In June 1998, the department established hearing aid clinic which is currently led by the professor Yeo Seung-Geun. In March 2000, the professor Cho Joong-Saeng established East-West rhinitis clinic in cooperation with Korean medicine. The department has acquired educational achievement by producing 61 medical specialists, 35 doctors, and 62 masters and continued to focus on the research activities. At present, the department publishes 20 academic papers in prominent domestic and overseas academic journals and medical conferences ever year and currently employees 8 residents in the department. With the goal of making the patients feel satisfied and trustworthy and making the medical staff feel proud of their department, Kyung Hee Medical Center Department of Otorhinolaryngology strives for patient treatment and research. The department is dedicated to providing domestic and overseas training to all medical staff for the improvement of their capability, ultimately growing as the hospital that is equipped with the best educational facilities and programs, extending the function of research hospital by securing the department’s own research lab and research apparatus, and promoting the welfare and benefit of the medical staff by enhancing and diversifying the current cultural event.
